			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Non-profits often need to devise financially responsible ways to create a large impact for the start/finish line for 1K/5K walks and runs that take place throughout the year.  Balloon arches present a great opportunity to create a focal point for an important area while not breaking the budget.  On Saturday, we worked with a local non-profit to provide a helium arch for their event.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We love working with colleges and universities for numerous events, ranging from formals and graduation to leadership and staff appreciation events and retirement parties.  Today, we had the pleasure of working with a college to design an annual leadership appreciation event.  The springy theme was enhanced by the incoporation of teal linens in addition to the college&#8217;s red and white colors.  Curly willow branches were incorporated into the centerpieces to correlate with the invitation and program for the event, which featured an image of a branchy tree with teal and red accents.  As you can see in the above image, Arvay actually provided lighting under each of the 30 guest tables to create a festive atmosphere.  We look forward to servicing this event again in 2013!</p>

<p>This weekend, we had the pleasure of taking part in the marrige of Angela and Carson.  The reception was held at Soldiers and Sailors in Oakland, which presented a beautiful backdrop for the party.  We were able to transform the space by utilizing floor linens and overlays, creative centerpieces, and ferns to decorate the space.  An outdoorsy, patio feel, was created by hanging patio lights and paper lanterns from the balcony in the space.  Take a look at our <a href="http://arvayeventdesign.com/galleries/venues/?album=3&amp;gallery=75">gallery</a> to see the below and after pictures from this event.  Congratulations, Angela and Carson!  We enjoyed working with you to create your perfect day.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This weekend, we had the pleasure of working with a Harrisburg, PA college on their annual college formal.  The &#8220;Nile Nights&#8221; theme afforded us with many decorative ideas to help full the space.  From mummies, pyramids, camels, and a sphinx, to palm trees, bird of paradise centerpiece, and creative lighting, tonight&#8217;s party will be absolutely amazing for the students and faculty.</p>
<p>As you can see in the images that we&#8217;ve provided from this event, we were working in a large space with very high ceilings.  In order to bring the ceiling down to make the space more intimate, we provided wide gold lame fabric draping on the ceiling.  An added bonus was the gobo spot light that we provided in the shape of an Egyptian God.  The addition of royal blue lanterns over the guest tables, complete with LED lights, continued the look throughout the back of the space.</p>
<p>We created several focal points within the room.  When guests first entered, a large balloon wall pyramid was directly across the from entrance.  The entrance was decorated with white lighted columns, gold lame, areca palm trees, and camels.  In one corner of the room, we provided an 8&#8242; mummy and heiroglyphic panels.  In the opposite corner, we provided a large sphinx, flanked by palm trees.  Since the event was held from 10:00 pm &#8211; 2:00 am, we opted to utilized LED lighting to cast an eerie shadow on the sphinx. </p>

<p>Although Haley&#8217;s party took place in February, not one, but two inflatable bounce houses were provided in the back of the space for the kids to run off some of their energy.  Haley&#8217;s cupcake cake (from Oakmont Bakery &#8211; yum!) was perfect for the theme.  A final touch was to place inflated toys all around the room.  The toys included beach balls, ring toss, body boppers, basketball hoops, and many others.</p>

<p>About our covers&#8230;</p>
<p>We offer white or ivory standard hotel or standard folding covers.  We include an organza sash in the color that you select in our chair cover package.  We do offer an upgrade to a satin sash if you prefer.</p>
<p>In order to take advantage of the above special, your deposit must be received by 2/14.</p>
<p>Your initial contract will be based on 80% of your invited guests, with your final quantity being required 2 weeks before the event.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We have been participating in bridal shows for many years now.  Not all shows are equal.  This weekend, Cavanaugh&#8217;s BrideShow (our favorite show) will take place at the Wyndham Grand in Pittsburgh.  This is a 2-day show packed with vendors.  So the question is, as a bride, how do you prepare for the show and what do you do with the truckload of material that you&#8217;ll take home with you?  Here are just a few tips to make your life easier.</p>
<p>Before attending the show, think about the services that you still need.  If you are aware of the services that you already have and what you are seeking, your trip around the maze of vendors will be much easier.  Don&#8217;t be shocked if vendors are somewhat aggressive.  It&#8217;s not our style, but it is the style of many companies.  Don&#8217;t feel bad saying &#8220;no thanks&#8221; if you&#8217;re not interested in a certain vendor or service.</p>
<p>Bring address labels with your name, wedding date, and e-mail address included.  This way, you can quickly enter for the prizes that vendors are offering.  Otherwise, you&#8217;ll end up writing this information for the duration of your visit to the show.</p>
<p>Some brides have found success by carrying two bags for materials from vendors.  One bag is for information on the products and services that are a must-have for your wedding. The second bag is for information about items that are of interest, but aren&#8217;t high on your list.</p>
<p>After the show, realize that all vendors are not created equally.  Participation in a bridal show does not necessarily that the vendor you&#8217;ve met is right for your wedding.  Do some research &#8211; online and word of mouth seem to the be best.  Follow-up with the vendor to discuss your event individually instead of during the hectic bridal show.  </p>
<p>Most of all &#8211; have fun!  Wedding planning is extremely stressful, but this is your big day.  Make is perfect!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today, we had the pleasure of working to transform the Clarion Hotel in New Kensington for Matthew &amp; Lindsay&#8217;s beautiful winter wedding.  The overnight snow only added to the wintry feel of the Clarion&#8217;s ballroom for this wedding.  Lindsday opted to have a huge fabric lighted ceiling installed in the center of the ballroom instead of focusing on the dance floor area, as we typically do at the Clarion Hotel.  Our white trellis arch was adorned with silver and baby blue.  Many of the tables (bridal, cake, gift, cookie, etc) were decorated with silver lame and lights to pull the wintry theme into the reception even more.  White lighted birch trees drew even more attention to the ballroom entrance.  Other items provided by <strong>Arvay Event Design &amp; Rental</strong> included 2 large balloon hearts, 2 card boxes, and light purple accent bows on many of the &#8220;special&#8221; tables.  It was our pleasure to be involved in Lindsay &amp; Matthew&#8217;s special day.  Congrats!</p>
